Thought I'd educated everybody on the 7 wonders of the world. Yes, I am that bored.
The origin of the idea of seven wonders of the world dates back to Herodotus (484 BC – 425 BC) and Callimachus (305 BC – 240 BC), who made lists which included the :
Great Pyramid of Giza,
Hanging Gardens of Babylon,
Statue of Zeus at Olympia,
Temple of Artemis at Ephesus,
Mausoleum of Maussollos at Halicarnassus,
Colossus of Rhodes and
Lighthouse of Alexandria.
Only the Great Pyramid of Giza is still standing. The other six were destroyed by earthquake, fire, or other causes
So, here are the NEW 7 wonders of the World...
The GREAT WALL OF CHINA
The Great Wall of China is a series of stone and earthern fortifications in northern China, built, rebuilt and maintained between the 5th century BC and the 16th century to protect the northern borders of Chinese Empire from Xiongnu attacks.
INDIA' S TAJ MAHAL
(That's my sister and I at Taj Mahal)
Being the only wonder of the world I've been too, I know why it is a wonder. It feels like you are in heaven or Taj Mahal was dropped from heaven.
The Taj Mahal is a mausoleum located in Agra, India, built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favorite wife,Mumtaz Mahal.
PETRA IN JORDAN
The site is featured in films such as: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, "Arabian Nights", and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. How cool is that?Christ the Redeemer is a statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The statue stands 30 metres (98 ft) wide and 38 metres (120 ft) tall with its pedestal. It weighs 635 tons, and is located at the peak of the 700 metres (2,300 ft) Corcovado mountain in the Tijuca Forest National Park overlooking the city. It is one of the tallest of its kind in the world.
Machu Picchu was constructed around 1462, at the height of the Inca Empire. It was abandoned less than 100 years later. It is likely that most of its inhabitants were wiped out by smallpox.
The Maya name "Chich'en Itza" means "At the mouth of the well of the Itza." This derives from chi', meaning "mouth" or "edge", and ch'e'en, meaning "well." Itzá in Spanish is often translated as "Brujas del Agua (Witches of Water)" but a more precise translation would be Magicians of Water.
Going to be another wonder of the world,
Buzibee...
